3 Ways to Relieve Your Stress Today

Ready for another stressful day? Whether its work, school, kids, cooking, or anything else you can imagine, we all have those days that leave us feeling tense and just about anything but relaxed. But the question is, when the stress of your daily life comes knocking at your door, how do you respond to it? Here are 3 Useful tips to help you manage and get rid of some of the stress that you might encounter this week.

STOP and breath

We often get so caught up in the daily rush and routine that sometimes we forget to focus on one of the most crucial habits of our survival, breathing. Taking just few minutes apart from your busy schedule to sit up relax your muscles and just take a few deep breaths can work wonders in helping you relieve some of the built up stress that you experience daily.

Exercise

If you spend most of your time working at a desk seated then this is the one for you. Take just a few minutes every 60 to 90 minutes to get up off of your chair and move around. You can do push ups, squats, light in-place jumps or even just bend down and touch your toes. Any time that you take to stretch or exercise can help you to release all the built up tension and energy that you’ve stored throughout the day giving you a healthier energy flow to support your focus on your workload.

GO OUTSIDE

Here’s to one of the most important things you can do for yourself, GO OUTSIDE!!! We often spend so much of our time, morning to dawn, inside its no wonder you’re feeling stressed. Getting outside and allowing yourself the opportunity to take a few deep gulps of fresh air and soak up the sunlight not only will help you clear up your mind and relieve some stress, but it’s also a crucial part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Our skin absorbs vitamin D from the sun’s rays which also aids in the release of melatonin in the evening which in turn means a better night of sleep. And guess what happens if you get a good nights sleep? Yep that’s right, YOUR STRESS GOES DOWN! So do yourself a favor this week and take even just 15 minutes(the more the better) a day during your work hours and get yourself outside. You can even practice the first two actions and give yourself a full stress relief break.
