June is almost over and July is just around the corner! We're now down to 2018's last 2nd half but it's never too late to go around and attend exciting events. Here's a list of happenings for this weekend:

1. Chesapeake Writers’ Conference

When: June 29-30

Where: St. Mary's College of Maryland, St. Mary's City, MD 20686

An event for all the pen warriors out there, Chesapeake Writers’ Conference is going to host writers at all levels of experience for a rich week of lectures, craft talks, readings, panel discussions, and workshops in fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction.

Jive to the beat of great music performed by celebrated music artists Parmalee, Chris Lane, Bradley Turner, Drivin Muzy, Robbie Boothie and many more.

3.  Morgan State University Football Friday Night Lights Camp

Learn the fundamentals and techniques to take your game to the next level for the upcoming football season from Head Football Coach Ernest T. Jones and the Morgan State University football. 

4. Eat Black Baltimore

When: June 30

Where:  Motor House 120 W North Ave Baltimore, MD 21244

Showcasing the exceptional talents of Black Chefs, Baltimore will host Eat Black Baltimore to highlight over 10 chefs.  Food will be available for tasting before purchasing your new favorite items. Tickets are $20. The proceeds will go towards various community activities.

5. Lee Ritenour

When: June 30

Where: 33 West St, Annapolis, MD 21401

Enjoy and appease your ears as Lee Ritenour, Grammy Awardee guitarist serenades you playing anything from rock to blues to jazz.

6. 1-Mile Run/Walk Around Fort McHenry

When: June 30

Where: Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine 2400 East Fort Avenue Baltimore, MD 21230

Bring your friends and family to the 3rd Annual 1-Mile Run/Walk. 1-Mile. $20 pre-registration until 4/30/2018, $25 until 6/27/2018 and $30 on race day. Children 10 years old or younger are free.

7. Ganz and Hildebrand Unite Music and Fine Art

When: July 1

Where: 333 Dubois Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401, USA

Concert pianist Brian Ganz and music historian David Hildebrand provide a lively interplay of instrumental music, poetry, discussion, song, and fine art in their program “Hearing and Seeing, Music and Art” on Sunday.
